"Bloody salesmen" a short student film requires actors

Casting no. 84531 - Stoke-on-trent, UK
"Bloody salesmen" is a short film about a young hard working car insurance salesman

"Bloody Salesmen" is a short film about a young hard working car insurance salesman working the doors of a typical estate in the Midlands. Synopsis --------- The film will show James on a routine day, knocking at peoples doors and attempting to make a sale. The first three doors hold bad luck plus at each door the length of his pitch shortens as a result of doors being slammed in his face. Things aren't going too well for James.
The next part of the film will introduce the second character, Alan. A middle aged man who is woken up by a knocking at the door. Eventually but reluctantly Alan answers his door to a 'Bloody salesman'. James jumps into his pitch, barely giving Alan a chance to speak. To Alans distaste, James rants on and on then Alan learns that he is selling car Insurance. He then realizes this is his chance to get his own back on James. Towards the end James starts to loose control of the pitch, by making a prat of himself on a number of occasions, but to James' surprise, Alan seems intrigued. At the end he even reveals that he will seriously consider buying into it. However after giving James a glimmer of hope he states that due to himself being an ex car insurance salesman he no longer drives a car as It put him off the machines for good. At this moment Alan will tap James on the shoulder point off screen, and the next shot will see a push bike chained to his fence. 'Did you not see it on the way in?' he will ask.
Other information ------------------- The idea for the film came from a real life experience. I was woken up by an insurance salesman and it took me about twenty seconds for me to tell him I didn't even drive. This is obviously a dramatization but the main message is to say that any kind of sales person, not always, but sometimes can be real pains in the backside. I'm sure i'm not the only person who has this opinion. The film is meant to be an enjoyable piece of short cinema. It introduces a character, establishes his situation, he interacts with another character and the interaction is wrapped up at the end. Its a straight to the point sketch, without getting into too much detail and dealing with too many ideas. Using tonnes of complex ideas for plot and characters is dangerous when making short pieces of cinema, so i stuck with something funny and straight to the point. This will most probably be able to be shot in one day or one shoot. I am confident in my directing skills and have planned each scene out carefully using storyboards and blocking each scene out with models to get digital stills of what each scene will look like in terms of shots and sequences. A script will be available at any time requested.

James

Males, aged 20 to 30 from the United Kingdom

A fairly young man aged 20 to 25. He is good at his job but only because he can talk at great length cohesively. At the beginning it doesn't look to good for James however some of his skills do shine through in his pitch to Alan. He is a bit Confident, cheeky and cocky which works in his favour butat times it works against him.

|
Alan

Males, aged 35 to 50 from the United Kingdom

Alan is a middle aged man who gets annoyed quite easily. He quickly learns that after being woken up by James he can pay him back by building his hopes up then shooting him down right at the end of his pitch. Throughout their exchange, Alan seems sarcastic in some of his responses and comes across as the most intelligent of the two as he basically has James in the palm of his hand.
