Seeking talented, committed, disciplined semi-professional and professional singers
We are re-advertising for positions for the Gemstones, female vocal harmony group. We are planning on expanding the group and becoming a bigger ensemble. We are hoping to hold open auditions in the next two weeks for those who did not get a chance to audition before. In order to get an idea of what would be the best days for the open auditions, please email us back with your availability - weekdays or weekends, morning, afternoon or evenings after work. This is very important.
We only want applicants who are interested in sharing our vision, are flexible and want to learn from us. We want singers with ambition and focus who will practice every spare minute they have. We are not interested in working with divas, wannabes, and drama queens as this is a professional project. We plan to have the group perform in paid gigs from September 2008 and gain as much experience in between. We will try to arrange for rehearsals to be evenings and weekends to accommodate those who have jobs.
The decision of the producer is final in the creative direction of the group. Rehearsal time will be strict and disciplined in order for us to meet our performance deadlines. Must be willing to appear on promotional events for group (TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, Internet etc). Please note: Singers expected to make a small contribution towards the musical director and rehearsal space.
The process: (Those who do not follow the process or fulfil the conditions will not be considered)

- 1. Apply with your profile with the following details; Current mobile number, email, singing experience, performance experience, your vocal range, your availability, your style of singing, any training done, if you can read music, and any periods of time you will be out of London for a prolonged period of time in 2008. Including a brief covering letter describing your personality, style, image and what makes you special and different.
- 2. If we like you we will give you a call to explain about the project and arrange an audition or invite you to open auditions.
- 3. If you have a successful audition you will be invited to attend a few rehearsals to meet the other singers. It is also a chance for you to see if you want to be in the group.
- 4. There will be a 1 month training period to develop our sound, repertoire.
- 5. Singers will be expected to commit to a regular and strict rehearsal schedule.
Background:

We are directors of two vocal harmony groups that took part in two TV shows in 2008. One of our groups took part in Last Choir Standing and created a big buzz on the Internet as singers were recruited from social networking sites. We formed 3 weeks before the competition and were in the top 60 in the country and beat of groups that had been together for many years. We have had interest from various industry executives and show promoters. We also plan to record a single, from an original song we sang on Last Choir Standing.

Females, aged 18 to 40 from London, UK
Singers based in London and M25 area, not contracted to an agent, management or publicist already or have 3rd party contracts with music publishers or producers. Talented, committed, disciplined semi-professional and professional singers who are self assured and independent. Experience of performing will be a bonus but not necessary. We need singers of all types especially strong Tenors and Altos. Must be willing to explore singing vocal harmonies in different sections that are not in your comfort zone.
